Deer Run Out of School (DROOS) is a fun play based environment located right in the Deer Run Community Center. We cater to children from Kindergarten to Grade 6 and offer a variety of fun and exciting activities for everyone. The Deer Run Out of School program is open Mondays to Fridays from 6:30am to 6:00pm.

DROOS philosophy is that each child is unique and therefore has different patterns of growth. DROOS provides an environment that gives each child the opportunity to develop to their fullest potential, at their own pace despite any disabilities they might have.
DROOS facilitates several programs that cater to different levels of children and our staff has the relevant qualifications to be catering to this variety. Our kindergarten program ratio is 1:10 and the grade 1-6 programs have a ratio of 1:15.
We are proud to offer a morning program that starts from 6:30am - 8:20am, a lunch program and an after school program that runs from 3pm -6pm. All programs run throughout the year.
In addition to our regular programs, we offer the following special programs:

- Professional Development Days program
- Christmas Break program
- Summer Camp program
Our prices are valid for each school year and fees* are as follows:
- Kindergarten supervision (ECS) ($675 per month)
- 3 Services ($450)
- 2 Services ($400)
- 1 Service ($325)
- Warm lunch program ($75 per month)

Frequently Asked Questions
Does DROOS provide snacks or lunch for my child throughout the day?
DROOS provides an Afternoon (3:00pm) snack that coordinates with the Canadian Food Guide. Parents are required to provide a morning snack (10:00am) as well as a lunch for their child on School days, PD Days and during Winter, Spring or Summer Breaks.
Does DROOS accommodate children with special dietary needs when providing snack?
We do! DROOS is willing to accommodate different types of dietary requirements, based on each child’s situation.
Does DROOS accept child subsidy?
Yes, DROOS accepts Child Subsidy. Subsidy is Calculated by the Alberta Government, and must be applied for as it is done on an income bases. Please see link below for more information on Child Subsidy.
