 Secretary

The position is open. We do not have a secretary, but the old secretary is available for training and there is lots of documentation and guidance. You will be part of the executive team. Your job is to keep the story of the centre in terms of taking minutes at meetings, helping keep things on track with action, knowing where paper work is (we use Office 365 mainly and there is lots of help on the board and volunteers. Treasurer

This position is open. If you have skills in this field already, it might take less than the 10-12 hours a month we ancitipate this job needs. There are lots of examples of how-to’s a super repository of things that were done monthly. The main goals is to know where our assets are, assist with keeping things organized financially, checks and balances and helping our auditors yearly. You will likely head a committee to move last year’s budget forward with anticipated expenses. We usually rinse and repeat mostly and yearly so it’s not a hard job. contact us. Community Liaison

Spelling the role it consistently its a must. This role used to be “memberships” but selling memberships is a very small part. What we want is more community participation so this roll dovetails highly with the Communications Team. It’s a strategic role to get our community more engaged to fullfil our missing, vision values - to being our community together by putting on programs, talks etc. Working with community residents, groups and local businesses it further deepen the impact living in Deer Run Brings. We don’t have a job description - we will have some goals written from some notes we took but it is not yet available. You will be writing the job description as you go! Directors at Large

If you want to be more than just a volunteer and you want to vote on the board or are unsure how your skills fit, you can still be on the board. They are called directors at Large and they don't fit the mold of secretary, or sports or communications director. Many of them are quite handy with tools or project management. Please come out to a board meeting and check it out if you are unsure. Anyone is welcome to board meetings (we just ask that you let us know you are coming - click contact us. 1st wed of every month except only one in July/August)

Communication Team Members

First, lets get you a full job description (click) and you will see if its one person, not all that can get done - just the essentials. We already have a team of people and more is … more - we can reach our audience better. No method seems to work EXCEPT all methods when used does an effective job. Communicating to our community is an art in it self asa we have many different learning styles and many different ways people work. So visual, textual, left brained, right brained, types of multimedia or physical print when all ways are done - is effective.

Social Event Coordinators

Again, we already have a team but many hands makes light work and thus fun work. We are looking for more creative types and people who like to get things done. You don’t have to be the upfront person, but some love it. All types are needed to carry out excellent events. click contact us

Project Managers

We have a few larger projects like replacing the garage with a proper shop with a Studio on top, Splitting the raquetball and weight room into a top and bottom half (1.1M project!), rennoing the basement, moving part of the basement around/storage rearrangements, elevator install for accessabilty, a new rink surface with boards. All these projects need a project manager. Can you take of these projects on? Partial, Can you lead a team or can you be a team member that knows about concrete?

Construction and Handyman/women

Knowing we have problem is the easy part. Knowing people and good companies who know how to give us a good job at a good price is tricky.
